PetPortions.fyi is a small independent site. We don't have user accounts, don't sell anything directly, and don't run a mailing list. Here's the limited data we collect and what we do with it.
What We Collect
Calculator inputs
When you use our calculator, you enter information about your dog — breed, weight, age, sex, activity level, and conditions like pregnant or overweight. We send this to our server to compute a result and return it to you. We do not store it tied to your identity or build a profile from it.
Server logs
Our hosting provider records standard web request data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. Used for security, debugging, and general traffic understanding.
Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, self-hosted analytics to understand general site usage — things like page views and which pages are popular. It runs without cookies, doesn't track you across sites, and doesn't build a profile of you. The data is aggregated and does not identify you as an individual.
Cookies from outbound links
As of August 2026 we are not enrolled in any affiliate program, so nothing on this site sets an affiliate cookie. If you click through to a retailer or brand, that site may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy, exactly as it would if you had typed its address yourself.
If we join an affiliate program later, we will name it here with a link to its privacy policy, and say so on our affiliate disclosure page before any paid link goes live.
What We Don't Collect
- No user accounts, logins, or passwords.
- No email addresses (unless you email us — then we only keep your message).
- No payment information. Ever. Purchases happen on the retailer's site.
- No precise location or sensitive personal information.
How We Use It
To run the calculator, understand how the site is used, and keep the site secure. We don't rent, trade, or sell your personal information.
Cookies
We don't set analytics or advertising cookies of our own, and our analytics are cookieless. The site does set one small technical cookie, named _csrf-frontend, which protects forms against cross-site request forgery. It holds no personal information, it isn't used to track you, and the site cannot work securely without it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and the calculator works either way. Because we set no tracking cookies, there's no cookie consent banner.

Once you click through to a retailer or brand, their privacy practices apply, not ours.
Children's Privacy
PetPortions is not aimed at children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, email privacy@petportions.fyi and we'll delete it.
California Residents
California law gives you rights over your personal information — including the right to know what we've collected, the right to request deletion, and the right to opt out of data sharing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@petportions.fyi with "California Privacy Request" in the subject line. We'll respond within 45 days.
