A grain-inclusive dry kibble for senior dogs aged 7 and older. Chicken meal is the lead protein, supplemented by soybean meal. Cracked pearled barley, brewers rice, whole grain wheat, whole grain corn, whole grain sorghum, and whole grain oats supply the carbohydrate base, with chicken fat, soybean oil, and flaxseed contributing fat. The recipe contains added glucosamine (524 ppm) and chondroitin sulfate (1028 ppm) for joint support, plus L-carnitine, fructooligosaccharides (FOS) as a prebiotic fiber, taurine, and a vitamin and mineral premix. Animal feeding tests using AAFCO procedures substantiate that the recipe provides complete and balanced nutrition for maintenance of adult dogs. Caloric density is 3550 kcal/kg (352 kcal per cup).
